ART PROFILE - IRENA DOBRIJEVICH-HATFIELD
Throughout her large and colourful career in the visual arts Irena has continued to make art enjoying experimenting with various media and genre. Painting and photography being her passion, and when time permitted amongst a busy past life as a Gallery Director where she curated, judged and hosted art exhibitions as well as writing and teaching art, she has periodically exhibited her own works not only locally in Sydney, but also far North Queensland as well as Germany.
At the 2018 Bowral Regional Art Gallery's Pirtek Still Life exhibition Irena was awarded a Commendation for her painting titled, Takeaway Please.
Judge Alison Mackay stated, A finely composed and executed painting that is contemporary in its subject matter and social commentary. A sly humour in the title is also an important part of the painting.
At the Art Whitsunday Annual Art Exhibition she was awarded the People’s Choice prize for her large landscape painting titled, Toward Another Horizon. Her photography has been exhibited and published in art catalogues, books, newspapers as well as her portrait of North Queensland country rock singer Mark Nicol being chosen for his CD cover Ocean Deep, released in 2015.
Her paintings, photographs and drawings have made their home in corporate collections as well as many private collections in Australia as well as the United Kingdom, United States of America and Germany. TO CONTACT IRENA PLEASE EMAIL
